#NellaYogaSugarFreeChallenge Halfway Mark! ....Celebration time?

What’s it like halfway through a 30 Day Sugar-Free Challenge? Real easily. Just like it felt on Day 1. If you’re not prepared with meals, it will feel like the world is colliding around you. Those who are prepared are more likely to eat sugar-free than to “cheat.” Ok, so since I brought it up, let’s talk about “cheating.” In any other area in life, is it ok to “cheat?” No, really think about it… Unsurprisingly the answer is still no. Do we say, it’s ok alcoholic just one day isn’t going to hurt. Or even better, just 1 cheat drink during this meal alone is ok. No! So, why do we think it’s any different when so many of us are addicted to sugar? First step: Accept and say out loud, “Hi, My name is ______________. I am a sugar addict.” Perfect! Now you are closer to becoming unhooked off sugar. Oh my gosh! What is she talking about? Am I going to have to give up sugar for the rest of my life!! That is not my question to answer. My question to answer is, how can I do it? Go to my Healthy Lifestyle page and watch the Video of the Week. They are all amazing, life change, fact telling documentaries/clips. If you’re not convinced to at least try to live sugar free for 30 days. Try it for 3 days! If you experience headaches, extreme exhaustion, digestion problems, intense cravings, and intense mood swings, I’ll be the first to tell you that you are addicted. What you are experiencing is withdrawal. Let’s say you said no to all of these things and you feel great, better than before. Then, apparently, it’s still working! If you can’t remember the last time you’ve had sugar, because you haven’t had juice, or a cocktail, or a chocolate bar, then go immediately to your pantry. Yes, STOP and walk to your pantry and read 3 different products and let me know if you see any of these names for sugar including, sugar, cane sugar, cane juice, dextrose, fructose, glucose, rice syrup, high fructose corn syrup, or molasses. I’ll be waiting right here… OK! Now that the research is over. 90% of you found sugar in at least one of those products. Make a difference in how you eat and you make a difference in how you live.
